De Haan & Wenduine

A Nobel prize winner, a group of writers and a world famous artist. De Haan has many fans, some more famous than others. They have all fallen in love with this place, and who can blame them? Visitors to this seaside town fall in love with its charming, unspoiled character and its authentic, beautifully restored Belle Epoque neighbourhood where time seems to stand still.

Places to Stay

Hostellerie Astrid in Wenduine is good to its guests, with a homely atmosphere, high culinary standards and an enthusiastic hotelier who adds a cheerful touch. If you choose Hotel Rubens in De Haan you are staying in the midst of the fabulous Concession district.

Places to Eat

In no time at all Poincaré was attracting inquisitive gourmets to Wenduine. In sober Klemskerke, it’s the whitewashed Kruidenmolen (“spice mill”) that sets the tone. For years it’s been the secret off-duty relaxation spot of many illustrious chefs.

Things to Enjoy

A nostalgic walk through the Concession district or cross the beach to enjoy a perfect sunset in adjoining Wenduine. Youngsters can run off their energy in the elegant “La Potiniere” recreation park and become circus performers at De Sierk or watch the goats and learn to prick herbs.
