De Panne

De Panne is not only the greenest of the Flemish coast resorts; it also has the widest beach, which is without a single break-water. The vast sandy beaches inspired the Dumont brothers to build the first sand yacht in 1898. The sport is still very popular today. The sand yachts speeding along the edge of the waves are a fascinating sight.

However, it is not the only sport possible at De Panne. You can admire the nature during a walk or bicycle trip or, if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, give the skateboard run a go.
