Knokke-Heist

There is no disputing the jet-set appeal of Knokke-Heist, known by the locals as the Saint Tropez of Belgium. It has a reputation for being a town that majors on expensive boutiques and innovative art galleries, while still caring for its interesting heritage and natural beauty.

Places to stay

Hotel Lugano was the very first hotel to be run by the Vanhollebeke family who now have a small empire, and it is situated in the heart of Het Zoute. The refined Villa Hector is a stylish, charming B&B close to the village centre of Knokke-Heist.

Places to eat

Enjoy a pile of waffles or choose from a classic menu in the renowned Marie Siska, where children are more than welcome. The menu at  Le Coup Vert is compiled out of dishes with inventively combined flavours that will definitely give you pause for thought.

Things to enjoy

A breath of fresh air on the coast’s longest sea dike, shopping till you drop in Het Zoute and then, as the proud owner of an abstract painting and far too many pairs of new shoes, finding peace again in het Zwin.
