Eating & Drinking
Just a Taste or Sip
The following is a small selection of what Brussels has to offer for eating and drinking.
Cirio
Beursstraat 18, 1000 Brussel. Tel: 0032 (0)2 512 13 95
The Cirio has been receiving customers since 1886 and has managed to maintain its charm throughout the years. Here you can sip the house special ‘Half-en-half’ which is a mixture of white wine and Champagne. The interior alone is worth a visit. Even the toilets are still decorated with the original tiling and porcelain.
Le Variétés
Heilig-Kruisplein 4, B-1050 Brussels. Tel: 0032 (0)2 647 04 36
Le Variétés is designed to fit in with its Art Deco surroundings and does so beautifully. The walls are lined with zebrano wood and plenty of light comes in through the large windows. Their speciality is a superb and imposing spit roaster. But that is not all they offer, they will also tempt you with cheese croquettes, beef tartar and plenty of vegetarian dishes.

In the heart of Old Brussels is an art deco restaurant you will not want to miss. The tasteful decor, long established tradition of Belgian cuisine and a high quality service have made the 'Armes' one of the most exclusive restaurants since 1921. Many celebrities have eaten there, including the late King Leopold III and Danny DeVito. You can still read their notes in the guestbook.
