

Belgium’s first gay church was inaugurated in Ghent in 2006. While most people wouldn’t associate religion with homosexuality, the contrast is very typical for Ghent. It is a university town, full of young students but also home to beautiful architecture from way back when.

Ghent doesn’t have many specifically gay bars, but gay couples can go into any place without feeling uncomfortable.
