In addition to the magnificent architecture and vast range of museums Antwerp is the most important trading centre for diamonds in the world and a stronghold of the European fashion scene. In the gay scene this city on the river Schelde made its mark with the mega party event 'NaviGAYtion' a few years ago and today boasts a very thriving gay community.
Apart from the delicious food served in the restaurants, Ostend enchants its visitors with its inviting beach and the coast has something to offer for every taste. Most of the visitors that come to the smaller coastal towns love the quiet and remoteness to get away from all the typical tourist hustle. If you prefer cruisy beaches, the coast has two sections very popular with gays : in Panne (the Dunes Natural Reserve Westhoek) and in Knokke-Heist (Het Zwin) esplanade and its neoclassicist colonnades.
